Congratulations Dr. Zhou Junjie

Congratulations to Dr. Zhou Junjie for successfully defending this PhD dissertation entitled “Towards a Post-Taylorism Theory of Crowdsourcing”

In his dissertation, Junjie studies how we might best leverage crowdsourcing to solve complex problems by focusing on the interactions within crowdsourcing — interactions among crowdsourcing solvers and also interactions between the solution seeking firm and the crowd of solvers. Using computational modeling and simulations he was able to carefully analyze the crowdsourcing process from a “systems” view and derive theory-driven implications for how one might structure crowdsourcing processes to achieve better overall crowdsourcing effectiveness in terms of our ability to find the best solutions to complex problems.

Huge thanks go to Professors Chuan-Hoo Tan and Shi-Ying Lim for their excellent comments as examiners.

Congratulations Dr. Zhou!

Another garbage can successfully manufactured at the Garbage Can Lab!
“Just because you’re trash doesn’t mean you can’t do great things — it’s called Garbage Can, not Garbage Cannot!”
